Agreed! I think a lot of wellness advice out there is too specific or too prescriptive to flow well for each unique person. People become prisoners of someone else’s ideas or what’s even harder to challenge - “prisoners of science”
Yeah, food is one example, especially if it’s promoted by someone we like (celebrity, YouTuber, influencer etc). Instead of promoting self-discovery, observations, or self-reflection, there is the simple “Trust me bro”.
You nailed it on the head when you said, "Humans are unique and don’t fit neatly into protocols." When I was diagnosed with diabetes the doctors all told me the same thing on how to manage it. Nothing they told me worked. I had to learn the hard way that humans are all different and you have to do what works for you.
Thanks Brandy. That’s exactly it. You’re treated as if you’re the same as all other patients. And when it doesn’t work, the doctors/professionals get defensive making the whole experience so isolating and demoralising. I’m glad you’ve found your own way of making sense of and managing your condition. Thanks for sharing a personal example. 😊
IMO, sometimes what doesn't move solidifies. What doesn't flow usually gets stagnated and becomes the very thing it tries to fix.

Nice catch indeed. Like an industrialized, badly designed food that gets everyone sick in the long run. Right?

Thank you for this article. It was a great read!

I like your approach to this. It's easy to get caught up chasing every new wellness trend instead of paying attention to what actually works for you.
Yes, that’s it! Less chasing and more observing
